Pink Ivory Makeup: outubro 2015

Quem é que ainda não ouviu falar no famoso Velvet Teddy da Mac? É o nude típico dos anos 90 que voltou a estar na moda tudo por culpa da Kylie Jenner. Devo dever que mesmo não sendo grande fan da família, adoro cuscar os instagrams das irmãs principalmente das mais novas.

Voltando ao batom, ele é um nude escuro com uma base acastanhada quente. Muitas pessoas queixam-se que este batom fica completamente castanho nos lábios, eu não tenho esse problema, apesar de eu ser muito branquinha em mim fica um castanho/rosa velho como podem ver nos swatches.

Ele tem um acabamento Matte, ou seja não tem brilho, não seca os lábios e é muito confortável, mas ao contrário dos Retro Matte este batom transfere quando comerem, beberem ou beijarem.

Who hasn’t heard about the famous Velvet Teddy from Mac? It’s the typical 90s nude that came back because of Kylie Jenner. I have to say that I am not a big fan of the family, but I love to check them out on Instagram, specially the younger sisters.

This lipstick is a dark nude with a strong warm brown base. A lot of people complain that this color looks completely brown on their lips. I don't have that issue, Even tough I am really fair this looks like a browny pink shake like you can see on the swatches.

It has a matte finish, so it has no shine or shimmer, it doesn't dry out the lips and its very comfortable, but this lipstick transfers when you eat, drink or kiss.

Resolvi comprar esta cor com alguns dos meus nudes favoritos. Sei que muitos deles não são sequer perto da cor do Velvet Teddy, mas se já tiverem algum batom igual podem ter uma melhor ideia da cor.

Bare it all da Wet n Wild é a cor mais próxima que encontrei para o Velvet Teddy. Vocês é que sabem que preferem gastar os 19,50€ ou os 2,99€ na alternativa. Ou então podem fazer como eu e comprar as duas cores já que elas não são totalmente iguais :P

I decided to compare this color with my other favorite nudes. I know that a lot of them are not dupes, but in case you have one of these you can get a better idea of the shade of velvet teddy.

Bare it all from Wet n Wild is the closest shade to velvet teddy, so it’s up to you if you want to spend the 19,50€ or the 2,99€. Or you can be like me and own both because in my eyes those are totally different shades :P

Oi pessoal, hoje vou vos mostrar outra marca pequena, mas muito famosa nas redes sociais, a La Splash Comesmetics. Começaram a crescer no inicio do ano quando decorreu todo aquele drama com a Lime Crime, pois a La Splash tem um grande dupe da famosa cor Cashmere com o nome de Goulish.

Hey guys, today I am going to show you another indie brand but very famous on social media, it’s called La Slpash Comesmetics. They started growing in the beginning of the year when it started the Lime Crime scandal, all because La Splash has a dupe of the very famous Cashmere called Goulish.

Comecei a seguir a marca no Instagram e sempre tive curiosidade em experimentar. No inicio do verão comprei estes 2 meninos: Smitten Lip Tint na cor Charmed e o Studio Shine Lip Lustre na cor Belle, na loja inglesa Love Makeup por cerca de 13€ cada (na altura).

I started following the brand on Instagram and was always curious to tray them out. Around May or June I got these two babies: Smitten Lip Tint in the shade Charmed e o Studio Shine Lip Lustre in the shade Belle, on the British store LoveMakeup for around 13€ each (at the time).

Demorei tanto tempo a fazer a review porque não sabia muito bem qual a minha opinião sobre eles então queria esperar para comprar mais cores. Passou o verão e eu não lhes toquei porque prefiro usar cores mais vibrantes durante os dias quentes, prestei mais atenção a outras marcas de batons líquidos, como a Sephora, Sleek, Colored Raine... Quando lhes peguei novamente não os consegui ter nos lábios mais do que 30 minutos. São as coisas mais secas do mundo. Mas são secos ao ponto de depois de retirarem toda a hidratação dos lábios começam-se a desfazer. Mesmo assim, sei que há pessoas que não se importam e conseguem usar cimento nos lábios, eu também pensava que consiga, mas pelos vistos estava errada.

It took me a long time to write this post because I never really knew what to make of these so I wanted to try out some new shades. During all summer I didn’t touch them because I prefer brighter shades so I gave more attention to other liquid lipstick brands like Sephora, Sleek, Colored Raine… When I picked up the La Splash ones again I couldn’t use them for more than 30 minutes. They are the dryer thing in the world. They are so dry that after sucking all the moisture from your lips they start to crumble. Even so, I know that there are people that don’t mind then and could wear cement on their lips, I thought I was one of them… turns out I‘m not.

Formula à parte, esta marca tem 3 linhas das quais eu só comprei 2. A Studio Shine Lip Lustre é a gama com a tampa prateada, os batons apesar do acabamento mate têm micro brilhantes para dar uma ilusão de volume. Eu odeio todos os batons com brilhantes, mas nesta cor não se nota muito nos lábios. Estes têm um cheiro frutado um pouco exagerado e o aplicador é demasiado grande.

Formula aside, this brand has 3 ranges of liquid lipsticks from which I only got 2. The Studio Shine Lip Lustre has a silver cap. Even though they look mate, they have micro shimmer to give the illusion of a fuller lip. I hate frost lips, but on this case you can hardly notice it on the lips. They have a strong fruity smell and the applicator is too big.

Os Smitten Lip Tint Mousse têm uma cor opaca e uma grande variedade de cores. A própria marca indica que estes batons não podem ser sobrepostos e sugerem aplicar uma camada fina e uniforme. Outro ponto contra eles é que cheiram mesmo, mesmo mal quando começam a secar nos lábios e o cheiro nunca desaparece.

The Smitten Lip Tints have a full coverage color with a big range of shades. The brand suggests that these cannot be built up, so they tell us to apply a fine and even layer on the lips. Another point against them is that they smell really, really bad when they start to dry on the lips and the smell never really disappears.

A La Splash esteve envolvida num mini escândalo no mês passado. A gama Studio Shine tinha todos os batons com nomes de princesas da Disney enquanto que a gama Smitten Lip Tint tinha dado nomes aos seus batons referentes ao mundo do Harry Potter. Com o crescimento da marca eles tiveram que trocar alguns nomes. O nome Charmed manteve-se, mas Belle chama-se neste momento Hestia. Para resumir, as cores são lindas, mas a formula estraga tudo.

La Splash was involved on a mini scandal of its own last month. The liquid lipsticks from the Studio Shine range had Disney princess’s names and the liquid lipsticks from the Smitten range had Harry Potter names. With the growth of the brand they had to change the names to avoid copyright issues. They kept the name Charmed but the lipstick in Belle is now called Hestia. To sum up, the colors are amazing, but the formula ruins it for me.

Fiz a melhor compra do ano e chama-se Stila Eyes Are The Window na cor Mind. É uma palete completamente mate com um total de 12 sombras, 6 frias e 6 quentes.

I have made the best purchase of the year and it’s the Stila Eyes Are The Window palette in the shade Mind. It’s a completely matte palette with 12 eyeshadows, 6 cool toned and 6 warm toned.

Eu comprei no site da Beauty Bay por 39,50 €, lá podem encontrar as 4 paletas desta colecção: Body, Mind, Soul e Spirit. Todas elas diferentes por dentro e por fora.

I got it from Beauty Bay for 39,50 €. In there you can find the 4 palettes of this collection: Body Mind, Soul and Spirit, all of them different inside and out.

Eu andava de olho numa nova paleta de mates já algum tempo, mas a Naked Basics 2 da Urban Decay é muito fria, a Natural Matte da Too Faced tem 4 cores repetidas da Natural Eyes e a Tartellete da Tarte é estupidamente cara quando a queremos importar para Portugal. Decidi comprar esta quando vi uma review que a comparava com a famosa Viseart Neutral Matte 01.

I wanted to buy a mate palette for quite a while now, but the Naked Basics 2 from Urban Decay is too cool toned, the Natural Matte from Too Faced has 4 repeated shades from their Natural Eyes palette and the Tartelette from Tarte it's stupidly expensive to ship to Portugal. So I decided to get this one when I read a blog post that compared this one to the Viseart Neutral Matte 01.

Não me arrependo nem um bocadinho. Uso-a todos os dias, dando sempre preferência às cores mais quentes. Podem fazer um look totalmente mate ou podem usar em conjunto com outra paleta.

A embalagem é clássica, com 2 tons de dourado e acabamento tipo espelho. É muito resistente e compacta. Tem um fecho magnético e um grande espelho. No interior temos uma película com uma frase em dourado do Albert Einstein: “True sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination”.

I do not regret this at all. I use it everyday, giving special love to the warmer shades. You can create a total matte look with this or you can use it with other palettes.

It's a classic packaging with 2 golden tones and a mirror like finish. It’s very resistant, sleek and compact. It has a magnetic closure and a big mirror. Inside we have a clear sheet with an Albert Einstein quote: “True sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination”.

Como podem perceber as 2 primeiras filas são tons frios enquanto que as 2 de baixo são mais quentes. Adoro todo o layout da paleta.

Has you can probably see the 2 first rows are cooled tones shades and the bottom 2 are a bit warmer. I just love the layout of this palette.

Quanto à qualidade, para mim estas sombras fazem me lembrar as da MAC. São sombras secas, bem pressionadas mas pigmentadas. Esfumam bem, apesar de as mais escuras precisarem de um pouco mais de prática, como é normal. Têm longa duração e mesmo a usar esta paleta todos os dias, dificilmente vou acabar as sombras pois não têm desperdício nenhum.

The quality of the eyeshadows really reminds me of the MAC ones. Theses shadows are dry, very well pressed in the pan and pigmented. They blend well, but the darker shades need a bit more practice, like it’s usual. They last a long time on the eyes and even though I use this palate every day, it’s going to take a while to hit pan since there is no waste with theses shadows.

Gostava de comprar a paleta Soul (esta tem a famosa sombra Kitten), mas segundo o que li, há muitas meninas que a comparam com a Naked 2 da Urban Decay então não lhe ia dar muito uso.

I would like to get the Soul palette next (this one has the famous shade Kitten), but according to some bloggers that palette is a really close dupe to the Urban Decay Naked 2 that I already own.

Eu comprei a cor Baby Love, pois apesar de ser uma grande fan de blushes não tenho nenhum nude.

Primeiro de tudo... a embalagem em forma de coração com Too Faced em dourado é de morrer. Super fofinha e adorável. A cor do blush combina com a cor da embalagem, por isso se comprarem mais que uma cor podem os distinguir facilmente sem se preciso abrir a embalagem ou ler a etiqueta.

I got the shade Baby Love, because even though I am a big fan of blushes I don’t have a nude one.

First of all… the heart shaped packaging with Too Faced embossed in gold is to die for. It’s super cute and adorable. The blush shade matches the packaging, so if you buy more than one you can easily distinguish them without opening them or reading the label.

No interior temos um espelho em forma de coração, um fecho magnético e uns coelhos e flores impressos no pó.

Inside we have the heart shape mirror, a magnetic closure and some bunnies imprinted in the powder.

O pó é muito fino e macio. Se vocês usarem um pincel muito rijo vão ter desperdício de produto porque ao ser tão fino voa por todo o lado. Eu costumo usar com o pincel 127 da Zoeva porque é o pincel mais macio que eu tenho.

Estes blushes admitem durar até 16 horas. Como comprei uma cor tão natural é difícil de reparar, mas pelo menos 10 horas posso vos garantir que dura mas não com a intensidade que tinha logo quando apliquei.

The powder is really fine and soft. If you were to use a really stiff brush you’ll get a lot of waste since the product is so finely mild it will fly everywhere. I apply this blush with the Zoeva 127 since it’s the softest brush I own.

These blushes claim to last 16 hours. Since I have got such a natural shade it’s a bit difficult to notice, but at least 10 hours I can guarantee it last but not as intensely as when first applied.

Devo dizer que estou viciada e gostava de comprar mais. Penso que o próximo será o Your Love Is King pois é uma cor essencial para o outono inverno.

I have to say that I am hooked on these blushes and I want to buy more. I think my next one will be Your Love Is King, it just looks perfect for the autumn and winter time.

Hoje vou vos mostrar a minha ultima compra na Primor. Tentei ao máximo experimentar um pouco de tudo: corpo, cabelo e maquilhagem! =)

Precisava de um nosso creme para o corpo então decidi comprar este body butter de cereja da Farmona (2,50 €). Tem um aroma bastante intenso ao inicio, é espesso e hidratante. Recebi este perfume da Tai Jon como oferta, uma nova marca na loja. É de melancia e tem 15 ml, ideal para andar na mala.

Hey guys! Today I’m going to show you my last purchase from Primor. I've tried to get a bit of everything: body, hair care and makeup! =)

I needed to get an new body butter so I got this one from Farmona in the scent cherry & currant (2,50 €). It’s a bit intense when you first apply it, it’s thick and very hydrating. I got this mini perfume as an offer from Tai Jon a new brand sold in Primor. It’s watermelon scented, it has 15 ml of product and it’s great to keep in your bag.

Finalmente decidi testar o Uniq One da Revlon que todos adoram (6,75 €). Para quem não conhece, este é um tratamento 10 em 1, que pode ser aplicado no cabelo húmido. Ele admite: reparar o cabelo seco, dar brilho e controlo ao cabelo frisado, protecção térmica e UV, facilita o alisamento, desembaraça o cabelo, mantém o penteado, previne as pontas espigadas e dá mais volume.

Aproveitei e comprei também este óleo de argão da Evoluderm, já que o meu estava a acabar (1,99 €). Este pode ser usado no corpo também, mas para mim vou só usar no cabelo.

Finally I decided to put to the test the Uniq One from Revlon that everybody loves (6,75 €). It’s a 10 in 1 treatment that can be applied in damp hair. It claims to: repair dry and damaged hair, shine and frizz control, heat protection, add slickness and smoothness, hair color protection with UV filters, easier brushing and ironing, incredible detangling, long lasting hairstyle, split ends prevention, adds body.

I also got this beauty argan oil from Evoluderm, since I was running out (1,99 €). It can also be used in the body.

E como o melhor fica sempre para o fim, comprei 1 sombra em creme da Maybelline e 6 batons da Wet n’ Wild.

I left the best for last. I got a new color tattoo from Maybelline and 6 lipsticks from Wet n’ Wild.

Vocês já devem conhecer a gama Color Tattoo da Maybelline, à venda em todos os supermercados. Da gama original tenho apenas a cor On and On Bronze, um bronze como o nome indica muito brilhante e duradouro. Quando vi que a Primor tinha 3 cores da nova colecção Creamy Mattes decidi comprar uma sombra na cor Creamy Beige (5,95 €). É uma base ideal para fazer um smoky eye, ou pode ser usada sozinha para dar um pouco de profundidade ao olhar.

You probably know the Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows from Maybelline. From the original range I have the shade On and On Bronze, a very long lasting bronze shade with a metallic finish. When I noticed that Primor had 3 new shades from the Creamy Mattes collection I decided to try out the color Creamy Beige (5,95 €). It’s a great base for a smoky eye or it can be used alone to add a bit of depth to the eyes.

Quanto aos batons, aproveitei a promoção de 3 por 2 e comprei as novas cores da Wet n’ Wild. Eu adoro a formula destes batons o problema deles é mesmo a embalagem pouco atractiva, mas por algum motivo eles custam apenas 2,99 €.

Comprei nas cores Wine Room, In the Flesh, Sand Storm, Mocha-licious, Ravin’ Rasin e Cherry Picking.

In the lipstick department, I took advantage of the 3 for 2 promotion going on with Wet n' Wild and I got the new shades available from the Megalast range. I love the formula of these lipsticks the only problem is the packaging, but I guess that’s the reason why they cost 2,99 €.

I got the shades Wine Room, In the Flesh, Sand Storm, Mocha-licious, Ravin’ Rasin and Cherry Picking.

Se vocês têm uma pele clarinha como eu então sabem como é difícil comprar bases em Portugal.

Nos supermercados é impossível, pois do existem 3 ou 4 cores para peles médias que são as mais comuns, não há testers e não podemos devolver a base se não gostarmos.

Experimentei comprar bases na Sephora, mas ou as senhoras ou não sabem que cor me vender, ou as luzes da loja enganam ou então os produtos oxidam. Muitas vezes saí de lá feliz da vida com a minha base nova para perceber mais tarde que era 3 tons mais escura que a minha pele.

If you guys have a light complexion like me then you know the struggle that is to find the right foundation in Portugal.

In the drugstore it’s just impossible! They have 3 or 4 medium shades that are the ones that sell faster, there are no testers and you can’t return the foundation.

I have tried buying foundations from Sephora, but either the ladies can't color match me, or the light inside the store sucks or the product oxidizes. Many times I have left Sephora to find out later that the foundation is 3 shades darker than my skin.

Como referi no meu post sobre a minha luta contra o acne quando fui para Inglaterra encontrei bases adequadas à minha pele. Muitas já foram para o lixo, outras ficaram e outras comprei de novo. Vou vos mostrar as minhas favoritas!

Like I mentioned in my post about dealing with acne, when i went to England I really got into foundation. A lot of them are in the trash now, some I still keep and others I have repurchased. I am going to show you my 3 favorites!

L'oreal True Match

L’oreal True Match na cor N1 Ivory – Esta é a base do meio. Se vocês têm pele mista, tons neutros e querem uma cobertura média aconselho esta menina. Esta gama da L’oreal tem muitas cores e tons. N1 Ivory significa que é indicada para peles com tons neutros (N) e é a mais clara da colecção (1). Não dá ênfase às partes secas, não me deixa oleosa e dura todo o dia. Actualmente esta base mudou a embalagem, chama-se L’oreal Accord Parfait podem encontrar na Maquillalia (17,50€) e Primor (11,95€) mas a cor mais clara é o N2 Vanilla ou pode ser que tenham sorte e encontrem cores mais claras nas Sephoras e Douglas.

L’oreal True Match in the shade N1 Ivory – This is the middle foundation. If you have normal or combination skin, neutral tones and you want medium coverage I recommend this baby. This range from L’oreal has a lot of shades and tones. N1 Ivory means that it's suitable for neutral skin (N) and it’s the lightest in the collection (1). This foundation does not cling to dry patches, it doesn’t make me oily and it last the all day. Recently L’oreal changed the packaging, it's called L’oreal Accord Parfait and you can find it in Maquillalia (17,50€) and Primor (11,95€) but the lightest shade available is N2 Vanilla. You can try Sephora or Douglas since in France they carry the lightest shade.

Revlon Colorstay

Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily na cor 110 Ivory – Esta base é a que eu usei vezes e vezes sem conta quando tinha acne. Tem alta cobertura, não tem óleo, deixa a pele mate, dura o dia inteiro e não sai (podem esfregar a cara onde quiserem porque isto só sai com desmaquilhante). Eu tenho a cor 110 Ivory, é a mais clara de todas e é bastante rosada. Se vocês tem tons mais quentes devem comprar a cor acima 150 Buff, não é tão clara mas não é tão rosa como a 110. Podem a encontrar na Maquillalia (11,90€).

Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily na cor 110 Ivory – This foundation is the one that I have used countless times during my acne crises. It’s full coverage, it’s oil free, leaves a matte finish, lasts even after work and it’s really hard to take off (seriously you can rub your face and this doesn’t come off). I have the shade 110 Ivory, it’s the lightest of all and it’s a pink shade. If you are a bit more yellow you should try the darker shade in 150 Buff. It’s not as light but its not as pink as the 110. You can find them in the Maquillalia website (11,90€).

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum na cor 51 Vanille Clair – Esta é a mais natural de todas, tem uma cobertura leve e deixa um acabamento luminoso mais indicado para peles secas a normais. A cor mais clara é a 51 Vanille Clair e é vendida nas Sephoras e Douglas em valores perto dos 18€ a Primor vende mais barato mas a cor mais clara é a 53 Beige Clair.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum in the shade 51 Vanille Clair– This one is the most natural of all 3. It has a sheer coverage and leaves a dewy finish, great for dry skin. The lightest shade is 51 Vanille Clair and it’s sold on Sephora and Douglas for about 18€. You can also find them on the Primor website for a cheaper price but the lightest shade available is 53 Beige Clair.

L'oreal True Match - Revlon Colorstay - Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

L'oreal – Média cobertura; tons neutros; normais.

Revlon – Alta cobertura; tons frios; peles oleosas.

Bourjois – Baixa cobertura, tons quentes, peles secas.

L'oreal – Medium coverage; Neutral toned; Normal skin.

Revlon – Full coverage; Cool toned; Oily skin.

Bourjois – Sheer coverage; Warm toned; Dry skin.
