Pink Ivory Makeup: LA Girl

Bom ano pessoal! Espero que deixem 2016 bem lá atrás e que se preparem para um ano cheio de coisinhas boas e novas aventuras. Para comemorar o inicio do novo ano vou repetir a tradição e fazer 10 posts com os meus top 5 de 2016, e vamos começar pelas 5 desilusões:

5. Cotton Candy Pore Cover BB – Este é o BB que mencionei há uns meses atrás, que me explodiu a cara. Barato, com acabamento natural e até com uma cobertura aceitável, mas bolas como me arrependo de o ter usado.

4. Milani Amore Matte Lip Creams - Batom ressequido que “cai dos lábios” aos pedaços. Adoro a Milani e batons líquidos, mas não suporto estes meninos. Post aqui.

3. LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses - Estes conseguem ser piores que os da Milani pois não os posso ter nos lábios nem por 5 minutos. São super cola e podem ler mais sobre os batons da LA Girl aqui.

2. Make up For Ever HD Concealer - Como me arrependo de ter comprado este corretor. Ainda o tenho e costumo o misturar com outros, pois recuso-me a desistir dele. Como é que é possível ele funcionar em tantas pessoas menos em mim? Ele não tem cobertura na minha pele e não há um dia em que não fique depositado nas minhas linhas de expressão. 1. Bioderma Hydra Bio - Outra desilusão…. E bem cara. Comprei 3 produtos da nova linha para peles desidratadas da Bioderma e estão os 3 abandonados. Mais detalhes aqui.

E foram estas as minhas maiores decepções do ano! Digam me se já experimentaram algum destes produtos e se eles funcionam convosco. Não se esqueçam de me contar qual é o vosso top 5 de desilusões de 2016.

5. Cotton Candy Pore Cover BB – This is the BB cream that I mentioned a couple of months ago that completely exploded my face. It’s affordable, it has a natural finish with an okay coverage, but damn I do regret purchasing it!

4. Milani Amore Matte Lip Creams – Super dry lipstick that crumbles of the lips. I love Milani and liquid lipsticks but not together. Post here.

3. LA Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses – These can be even worse that the ones from Milani since I can’t even wear them for more than 5 minutes. The’re just like super glue and you can read more about them here.

2. Make Up Fore Ever HD Concealer – How I regret buying this corrector. I still own it and I usually mix it with other ones, since I refuse to give up on it. How is it possible for it to work on so many people but not on me? It doesn’t cover anything on my skin and every single time I use it, it always settle on my fine lines. 1. Bioderma Hydra Bio – Another disappointment… And a really expensive one. I got 3 products from Bioderma’s new range for dehydrated skin and all 3 suck. More details here.

Os L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses saíram no ano passado, por esta altura, e lembro-me de ficar colada ao ecrã do meu computador a ver lip swatches das minhas Youtubers favoritas, principalmente porque chegaram à Maquillalia ao mesmo tempo.

The L.A. Girl Matte Flat Finish Pigment Glosses came out around last year, and I remember being glued to my computer screen watching lip swatches of my favorite Youtubers, specially since they arrived to Maquillalia at the same time.

Não sei se também vos acontece, mas quando vejo um lançamento americano, fico empolgada durante 5 minutos e depois vou chorar para o canto porque sei que ainda vão demorar meses a chegar a Portugal. (A dica é especialmente direccionada à Too Faced! POIS, onde estão os meus Melted Matte Too Faced?).

Lá fiz a minha selecção de cores e encomendei na a 5.49€ na Maquillalia. Nada ia correr mal, então comprei 3! Até que os testei e fiquei completamente à toa… como é que é possível tantas pessoas adorarem isto???

I don’t know if this happens to you too, but every time I see an american release I get super excited for about 5 minutes and them I lay down and cry myself to sleep because in Portugal we need to wait alooooot for a new release to show up. (I’m talking about you, Too Faced! Where are my Melted Matte Lipsticks, hmm?).

I made my selection and ordered from Maquillalia for 5,49€ each. Nothing was going go to wrong, so I order 3! Them I tested them and was completely stupefied. How is it possible for so many people to love these???

Eles têm pigmento, ficam homogéneos e as cores são lindas. O problema é que são “cola” nos meus lábios. A formula até pode aparentar ser matte, mas tem uma textura super peganhenta, e nem sequer é tipo gloss, é como se os meus lábios estivessem constantemente colados. É uma sensação horrível, que faz com que eu tenha vontade de passar com a língua nos lábios, então umas horas depois fico com o famoso “butholle lip”.

Em termos de embalagem também não sou a maior fan, e tudo deve-se ao facto de termos um gargalo enorme que faz com que produto saia, acumule-se por fora e mude de cor. Felizmente isto só me aconteceu com um, pois foi o único que passou umas horinhas na minha mala.

They are pigmented, look even on the lips and they have a great color selection.The problem is that they’re “glue” on my lips. The formula may look matte, but the texture is to sticky, and not like a gloss. It's like my lips are super glued to each other. It’s the most uncomfortable feeling in the world, and all I want to do is to go over them with my tongue. Couple of hours later I’m rocking the famous “butthole lip”.

The packaging is not that great too, and that is essentially because of the massive opening. The product comes out, settles and changes color. Fortunately this only happened in one, since it was the only one that spend a couple os hours in my bag.

Bem, de qualquer das formas vou vos mostrar as cores que tenho, pois pode haver fans da LA Girl por aqui! Comprei Dreamy (nude rosado), Bazaar (rosa médio) e Obsess (coral avermelhado), onde o primeiro é o meu favorito, mas lá está, só pela cor.

Já conheciam estes batons? Gostam deles? Alguma recomendação para os usar?

Anyways, I’m going to show you the shades I own, because I bet that there are some L.A. Girl fans out here! I got the shade Dreamy (pinky nude), Bazaar (médium rose) and Obsess (coral with red undertones). The first one is my fave, but only for the color.

Quem é que ainda não ouviu falar no famoso Velvet Teddy da Mac? É o nude típico dos anos 90 que voltou a estar na moda tudo por culpa da Kylie Jenner. Devo dever que mesmo não sendo grande fan da família, adoro cuscar os instagrams das irmãs principalmente das mais novas.

Voltando ao batom, ele é um nude escuro com uma base acastanhada quente. Muitas pessoas queixam-se que este batom fica completamente castanho nos lábios, eu não tenho esse problema, apesar de eu ser muito branquinha em mim fica um castanho/rosa velho como podem ver nos swatches.

Ele tem um acabamento Matte, ou seja não tem brilho, não seca os lábios e é muito confortável, mas ao contrário dos Retro Matte este batom transfere quando comerem, beberem ou beijarem.

Who hasn’t heard about the famous Velvet Teddy from Mac? It’s the typical 90s nude that came back because of Kylie Jenner. I have to say that I am not a big fan of the family, but I love to check them out on Instagram, specially the younger sisters.

This lipstick is a dark nude with a strong warm brown base. A lot of people complain that this color looks completely brown on their lips. I don't have that issue, Even tough I am really fair this looks like a browny pink shake like you can see on the swatches.

It has a matte finish, so it has no shine or shimmer, it doesn't dry out the lips and its very comfortable, but this lipstick transfers when you eat, drink or kiss.

Resolvi comprar esta cor com alguns dos meus nudes favoritos. Sei que muitos deles não são sequer perto da cor do Velvet Teddy, mas se já tiverem algum batom igual podem ter uma melhor ideia da cor.

Bare it all da Wet n Wild é a cor mais próxima que encontrei para o Velvet Teddy. Vocês é que sabem que preferem gastar os 19,50€ ou os 2,99€ na alternativa. Ou então podem fazer como eu e comprar as duas cores já que elas não são totalmente iguais :P

I decided to compare this color with my other favorite nudes. I know that a lot of them are not dupes, but in case you have one of these you can get a better idea of the shade of velvet teddy.

Bare it all from Wet n Wild is the closest shade to velvet teddy, so it’s up to you if you want to spend the 19,50€ or the 2,99€. Or you can be like me and own both because in my eyes those are totally different shades :P

A algum tempo, a Maquillalia fez a oferta de um saco com 5 produtos full size numa compra, igual ou superior, a 30€. Ora vou vos mostrar o que veio para a minha casa.

Some time ago, Maquillalia was offering a goody bag with 5 full size products, if you spent more than 30€. I couldn't resist, so I ordered some new babies.

Comprei o Betty-Lou Manizer, o bronzeador da famosa colecção do The Balm. Só devo experimentar este menino no pico do verão, até lá fica com as irmãs na gaveta.

I bought the Betty-Lou Manizer, the bronzer/iluminator from The Balm. This is another item that I will only try out in the summer, until them it will stay with its sisters in my drawer.

Foi desta vez que decidi experimentar a marca I <3 Makeup, escolhi a cor bursting with love da gama dos Blushing Hearts.

So, finally I decided to try the brand I <3 Makeup. I picked up the shade bursting with love from the Blushing Hearts range! It’s a very shimmery pink blush with 3 different tones that can be mixed or used individually.

Não podia deixar passar o Pro-concealer HD (5€) da L.A. Girl. Escolhi a cor mais pálida, classic ivory mas não me parece que seja clara o suficiente para a minha pele, vou então esperar pelo verão para abrir o tubo.

I could not pass the new Pro-concealer HD (5€) from L.A. Girl. Even though I chose the lightest shade, in classic ivory, I don’t think it will match me, so I will wait for the summer to open up the tube.

Da mesma marca escolhi um lápis em gel na cor Dark Brown (5€). Prefiro os lápis de olhos deste género, são muito mais macios e pigmentados que os tradicionais. Este lápis surpreendeu-me, posso dizer que é tão bom como os famosos Supershock da Avon.

From the same brand I got the gel pencil in the shade Dark Brown (5€). I prefer eyeliners like this, because they are softer and more pigmented than the traditional kohl pencils. This one in particular surprised me, I can surely say that its as good as the famous “Supershock” eyeliners from Avon

Comprei também o Glazed Lip Paint (4,99€) na cor Seduce. É um gloss muitíssimo pigmentado, é pouco (ou quase nada) peganhento e tem um cheiro a menta. A cor que escolhi é um roxo com tons de rosa, faz me lembrar um pouco da cor girl about town da MAC quando está esbatido.

I also bought the Glazed Lip Paint (4,99€) in the shade Seduce. It’s a really, really, really pigmented gloss, not at all sticky and smells like mint. The shade I bought reminds me a bit of girl about town (from M.A.C), when sheered out.

Para concluir recebi um saco cheio de mimos! Este trazia 2 vernizes da fashionista, 1 lilás e um bordeux (preço original 3,90€), um blush liquido da mememe na cor Cupid’s Kiss (preço original 7,40€), um jumbo lip pencil da MUA (preço orignal 3,99€), e uma palete de sombras da makeup revolution (preço original 7,99€).

The last thing that I have to show you is the surprise bag! Mine had 2 nail polishes from Fashionista, a lilac one and a burgundy one (original price 3,90€ each), a liquid blush from Mememe in the shade Cupid’s Kiss (original price 7,40€), a jumbo lip pencil from MUA (original price 3,99€) and a eye shadow palate from I <3 Makeup (original price 7,99€).
