Pink Ivory Makeup: Makeup Revolution

Hoje vou vos mostrar toda a minha colecção dos pigmentos da Makeup Revolution! Eu comprei os na Maquillalia, provavelmente há mais de 1 ano! Cada pote traz 1.5g de produto e custa 1.45€. Ora, eu não tenho muita experiência com pigmentos, e quando isso é o caso mais vale comprar o mais barato possível para nos habituarmos!

Decidi que a Makeup Revolution era a marca ideal e então comecei a vasculhar a internet para encontrar boas fotografias destes pigmentos... mas na altura o que encontrei era muito reduzido, então fui um bocado à sorte, aproveitei as promoções de 3x2 que a Maquillalia costuma fazer na altura dos saldos e fiz uma colecção de pigmentos.

Neste momento tenho 10 pigmentos que uso de vez em quando ou nas galas de finalistas das primas, vizinhas e amigas. Se estão a pensar comprar estes pigmentos, recomendo a 100% o Aqua Seal ou outro tipo de primer para pigmentos ou glitter. Eles até podem ficar bonitos quando aplicam, mas com o passar do tempo o pigmento vai começar a desaparecer dos olhos.

Today I’m going to show you my collection of Makeup Revolution Pigments! I got mine on Maquillalia, probably more and a year ago! Each pot has 1.5g of product and costs 1.45€. Well, don’t have a lot of experience with pigments, so I think that is better to buy the cheapest available until you get used to it!

I decided that Makeup Revolution was the ideal brand, then I searched the internet for good swatch photos... but at the time I didn’t find a lot about it so I just ended up guessing the shades. I took advantage of the 3x2 promotions that Maquillalia does around the sales season and I made a collection of pigments.

Right now I have 10 pigments that I use once in a while. If you want to buy these pigments, I recommend 100% to get the Aqua Seal or another primer for pigments or glitter. They may look amazing when you first apply them, but after a while they will disappear from or lids.

Eu deito 2 ou 3 gostas do Aqua Seal na tampa do pigmento, molho o pincel (o pincel mais velho que tenho cá em casa), depois tiro o sifter do pot do pigmento e envolvo o pincel na cor, de seguida aplico nas pálpebras tentando evitar o máximo de fallout. Vai ficar com um efeito tipo as Foiled Eyeshadows da Makeup Geek, uma sombra opaca com um acabamento metálico.

I drop 2 to 3 drops of Aqua Seal on the pigment lid and bathe my brush in it (the oldest brush I own, just to be safe), them I take off the sifter and dip my brush on the pigment and apply it to the lid with patting motions to avoid fallout. It looks like the Foiled Eyeshadows from Makeup Geek.

Eu fiz o swatch de todos os meus pigmentos com e sem o Aqua Seal, e tirei fotos com e sem flash. O único pigmento que deixa um pouco a desejar é o Supreme, ele é muito transparente para mim mas pode ser usado como iluminador.

I swatched all the pigments that I own with and without the Aqua Seal and I took pictures with and without flash. The only one that I don’t like is Supreme, to me it’s just too sheer, but it’s a nice face highlighter.

Nas fotos em baixo podem ver o mesmo pigmento 2 vez, onde na esquerda ele está seco e na direita eu apliquei o primário.

On the pictures bellow you can see the same pigment swatched twice. On the left I applied with dry fingers and on the right I used the primer.

Não sou a maior fan da Makeup Revolution, mas devo dizer que estes blushes até são bastante bons principalmente quando estamos a falar da relação preço/qualidade. Comprei os na Maquillalia a 1,45€. São os blushes mais baratos que encontrei até hoje.

I'm not the biggest fan of Makeup Revolution, but I have to say that these blushes are pretty good especially when you think about the price/quality. I got these on Maquillalia for 1,45€. These are the cheapest blushes that I have found so far.

Como podem ver a embalagem é de plástico com uma tampa transparente para conseguirmos distinguir a cor do blush. Não é a mais bonita do mundo, mas é resistente e compacta. Sei que neste momento as embalagens estão diferentes, são rectangulares e mais fáceis de guardar.

No interior temos 3,4 g de produto. Estes blushes têm a pigmentação de uma sombra de olhos, o que não é muito normal já que nos blushes não queremos a mesma intensidade que nas sombras. Isto poderia ser um ponto negativo, principalmente porque eu sou tão branquinha, mas eu adoro abusar no blush e com um pincel fofinho a aplicação fica perfeita.

Eles têm uma textura um pouco seca, mas espalham-se muito bem. Têm uma cobertura homogénea na pele e existem várias cores para todos os gostos dentro da colecção. Sinceramente não sei como é que a Makeup Revolution vende isto a 1,45€ mas também não me vou queixar.

As you can see the packaging is plastic with a clear lid so that you can see the blush color. It’s not the prettiest packaging in the world but it fits its purpose, it's resistant and sleek.

Inside we have 3,4 g of product. These blushes have the pigmentation of an eye shadow, this is not normal since with blushes we don’t want the same intensity as shadows. But it doesn't really bother me because I like a strong blush.

They have a very dry texture, but they blend very well. They have a even coverage on the skin and there is a variety of shades that you can choose from in the collection. Honestly I don't know how Makeup Revolution sells this for 1,45€ but I am not going to complain.

Em minha opinião a única desvantagem é mesmo a duração. Quando eu uso estes blushes directamente na pele (sem base/BB cream ou primer) eles duram cerca de 3 horas. Por este motivo eu só os uso quando vou passar pouco tempo fora de casa, pois não gosto de andar carregada com blush e pincel na minha mala.

No futuro gostava de comprar os blushes em creme da Makeup Revolution, mesmo que tenham o problema de pouca duração sempre podem vir na mala e basta aplicar com os dedos.

In my opinion the only down side is the lasting power. When I use these blushes directly on the skin (with no foundation/BB cream or primer) they last for about 3 hours. For that reason I only tend to use them when I know that I won’t be out of the house for long, since I don’t like to carry blush and brush with me.

In the future I would like to try out the cream blush range from Makeup Revolution, even if they have the same problem with the lasting power then can come in my bag and I just apply them with fingers.

A colecção é composta por 6 cores, das quais eu tenho 4: Love (nude) Now! (rosa neutro), Sugar (coral muito parecido com o Melba da Mac) e Wow! (rosa Barbie intenso).

This range has 6 shades of blushes available and I own 4: Love (nude) Now! (neutral pink), Sugar (coral that looks a lot like Melba from Mac) e Wow! (intense Barbie pink).

Quem costuma fazer compras na Maquillalia de certeza que já reparou na I <3 Makeup (marca irmã da Makeup Revolution). É uma marca inglesa com produtos em conta que costuma criar 'dupes' de marcas como a MAC, Tarte, Too Faced, Lime Crime, Lorac.... Hoje vou vos mostrar a comparação de 2 blushes, um da I <3 Makeup de 6,49€ e outro da Too Faced a 32€ nas Sephoras.

If you usually shop on Maquillalia then for sure you have noticed the brand I <3 Makeup (sister brand of Makeup Revolution). It's a british brand with affordable 'dupes' for brands like MAC, Tarte, Too Faced, Limecrime, Lorac... Today I am going to show you a comparation on 2 blushes, one from I <3 Makeup (6,49€) and another from Too Faced (32€).

A Too Faced tem 3 tons diferentes dentro desta gama dos Sweethearts - Perfect Flush Blush:

Something about berry - um rosa frio muito intenso.

Peach beach - um pêssego muito brilhante.

Candy glow - um coral suave. É o mais natural de todos e foi a cor que comprei.

A I <3 Makeup que originalmente começou por duplicar as cores da Too Faced, neste momento tem uma colecção de 6 blushes, 3 iluminadores e 3 bronzeadores. Decidi comprar a cor Bursting With Love (uma das cores originais da marca) para não correr o risco de ficar com duplicados.

Too Faced has 3 shades in this Sweethearts - Perfect Flush Blush range:

Something about berry - a very intense cool pink.

Peach beach - a very glitery peach shade.

Candy glow - a light coral. It's the most natural of all the shades and it's the one that I bought.

I <3 Makeup originaly started by just duplicating the Too Faced shades, but at this moment it has a coletion of 6 blushes, 3 highlitghers and 3 bronzers. I dicided to buy the color Bursting With Love (one of the original shades from the brand) so that I wouldn't end up with duplicates.

As embalagens são extremamente parecidas, têm o mesmo tamanho, formato e até a própria cor dourada. A maior diferença está sem duvida nos detalhes do blush da Too Faced.

The packaging is extremely similar. The shape, size and even the gold shade on the bottom are spot on. The major difference is in the little cute details that the blush from Too Faced has.

Dentro das embalagens de cartão podemos encontrar os blushes, constituídos com 3 riscas de cores diferentes que podem ser usadas em conjunto ou em separado.

O blush da Too Faced (direita) aparenta sem maior pois o da I <3 Makeup (esquerda) tem uma forma côncava e ao mesmo tempo esta inserido num suporte de plástico branco maior que o da Too Faced. Mas na verdade o blush da I <3 Makeup tem quase o dobro do produto (10 g) que o da Too Faced (5.5 g).

Inside the carton packaging you can find the blushes. They are made by 3 different colored stripes that can be used all together or separately.

The Too Faced blush (right) appears to be bigger than the one from I <3 Makeup (left) that has a domed shape and at the same time its inside a white plastic casing that looks bigger than the on from Too Faced. But in reality the cheaper blush has almost the double of product (10 g) than the more expensive one (5.5 g).

O que eu tinha mais receio era sem duvida a pigmentação e a duração do blush mais barato. Como podem ver na foto ambos são pigmentados, apesar de o da I <3 Makeup ser ligeiramente mais intenso e macio do que o da Too Faced. Quanto à longevidade o a Too Faced é o claro vencedor, este aguenta todo o dia de trabalho na pele enquanto que o mais barato vai desaparecendo a partir das 3/4 horas de uso.

What I was the most afraid of was the pigmentation and longevity of the cheaper blush. However, as you can see in the photo, both are pigmented, and I can even tell you that the I <3 Makeup blush is softer and a little bit more intense than the more expensive blush. Now, in the terms of longevity, Too Faced is the clear winner, since it lasts all 8 hours of a working day on my cheeks and the I <3 Makeup starts to disappear after 3/4 hours.

Eu aconselho estes blushes da I <3 Makeup, são uma boa adição ao tocador ou ate mesmo um boa prenda para uma amiga. Claro que não tem o packaging nem a duração de um blush de gama alta mas servem perfeitamente para uma saída, jantar, festa etc!

I recommend the blushes from I <3 Makeup, they are a good addition to your vanity or even a great gift for a friend. Sure you don't get the packaging or the long lasting power of a high end blush, but they are perfect for a night out, dinner, party, etc! It's up to you and your needs!

A algum tempo, a Maquillalia fez a oferta de um saco com 5 produtos full size numa compra, igual ou superior, a 30€. Ora vou vos mostrar o que veio para a minha casa.

Some time ago, Maquillalia was offering a goody bag with 5 full size products, if you spent more than 30€. I couldn't resist, so I ordered some new babies.

Comprei o Betty-Lou Manizer, o bronzeador da famosa colecção do The Balm. Só devo experimentar este menino no pico do verão, até lá fica com as irmãs na gaveta.

I bought the Betty-Lou Manizer, the bronzer/iluminator from The Balm. This is another item that I will only try out in the summer, until them it will stay with its sisters in my drawer.

Foi desta vez que decidi experimentar a marca I <3 Makeup, escolhi a cor bursting with love da gama dos Blushing Hearts.

So, finally I decided to try the brand I <3 Makeup. I picked up the shade bursting with love from the Blushing Hearts range! It’s a very shimmery pink blush with 3 different tones that can be mixed or used individually.

Não podia deixar passar o Pro-concealer HD (5€) da L.A. Girl. Escolhi a cor mais pálida, classic ivory mas não me parece que seja clara o suficiente para a minha pele, vou então esperar pelo verão para abrir o tubo.

I could not pass the new Pro-concealer HD (5€) from L.A. Girl. Even though I chose the lightest shade, in classic ivory, I don’t think it will match me, so I will wait for the summer to open up the tube.

Da mesma marca escolhi um lápis em gel na cor Dark Brown (5€). Prefiro os lápis de olhos deste género, são muito mais macios e pigmentados que os tradicionais. Este lápis surpreendeu-me, posso dizer que é tão bom como os famosos Supershock da Avon.

From the same brand I got the gel pencil in the shade Dark Brown (5€). I prefer eyeliners like this, because they are softer and more pigmented than the traditional kohl pencils. This one in particular surprised me, I can surely say that its as good as the famous “Supershock” eyeliners from Avon

Comprei também o Glazed Lip Paint (4,99€) na cor Seduce. É um gloss muitíssimo pigmentado, é pouco (ou quase nada) peganhento e tem um cheiro a menta. A cor que escolhi é um roxo com tons de rosa, faz me lembrar um pouco da cor girl about town da MAC quando está esbatido.

I also bought the Glazed Lip Paint (4,99€) in the shade Seduce. It’s a really, really, really pigmented gloss, not at all sticky and smells like mint. The shade I bought reminds me a bit of girl about town (from M.A.C), when sheered out.

Para concluir recebi um saco cheio de mimos! Este trazia 2 vernizes da fashionista, 1 lilás e um bordeux (preço original 3,90€), um blush liquido da mememe na cor Cupid’s Kiss (preço original 7,40€), um jumbo lip pencil da MUA (preço orignal 3,99€), e uma palete de sombras da makeup revolution (preço original 7,99€).

The last thing that I have to show you is the surprise bag! Mine had 2 nail polishes from Fashionista, a lilac one and a burgundy one (original price 3,90€ each), a liquid blush from Mememe in the shade Cupid’s Kiss (original price 7,40€), a jumbo lip pencil from MUA (original price 3,99€) and a eye shadow palate from I <3 Makeup (original price 7,99€).
