Hoje venho vos falar da minha rotina de pele.
Eu tenho pele mista com tendência
acneica. Durante praticamente toda a minha adolescência lidei com acne. Fui à dermatologista aos 18 anos e resolveu-me a pele em 2 meses. Aos 22 fui para Inglaterra
(melhor sitio para encontrar bases para pessoas meio “albinas”) e comecei a
utilizar maquilhagem todos os dias sem limpar bem a pele à noite, o fez com que
o meu acne voltasse.
Claro que comecei a testar
produtos atrás de produtos para me livrar da praga. O meu maior erro ao tentar
tratar do acne foi o excesso de produtos de skin
care e maquilhagem que eu usava. Muitas das bases, desmaquilhantes e
hidratantes que eu usava tinham ingredientes na sua composição que me pioravam
o acne.
Passado quase um ano sem
melhorias, fui à dermatologista. Os resultados não foram tão rápidos como da
primeira vez mas finalmente tenho a minha pele de volta ao normal. Deixei de
usar base, não porque tenho medo que volte a ter acne, mas porque não quero
voltar a estar ‘viciada’ em ter uma mascara de pele perfeita. Eu sei que é
cliché mas temos que nos “sentir bonitas na nossa própria pele”.
Antes de mais gostava de dizer
que se tens acne não esperes mais e vai a um médico. Eu passei imenso tempo a
tentar tratar da minha pele com produtos de supermercado sem obter resultados
(cleasil, clean and clear, oriflamme, garnier, yves rocher…). Talvez esses
produtos funcionem na tua pele, talvez não. Um médico saberá quais os produtos
ideais para ti e como usá-los.
Existem 3 produtos que a vossa rotina tem que ter:
Hi guys! Today I am going to talk about my skin care routine. I have oily and acne prone skin.
During my teenage
years I have dealt with acne. I went to the dermatologist when I was 18 and she
resolved my skin in 2 months. At 22 I went to England (best place on earth to find
foundations for the pale folks like me), I started using makeup every day and
not cleaning my skin properly at night and that made my acne come back.
I have
tried products after products to get me rid of acne. My biggest mistake was the
excessive amount of skin care and makeup that I used at the time. A lot of the
foundations, makeup removers and creams had ingredients in its composition that
just made my acne worse.
Almost a
year later without getting better I went to the dermatologist. The results weren't as fast like the first time, but now I can finally say that I have my skin back
to normal. I quit using foundation, not because I’m afraid I’ll breakout again,
but because I don’t want to feel the need to have that mask of perfect skin. I
know it's cliché but we have to feel “pretty on our own skin”
I just
want to tell you that if you have acne don’t wait any longer and go to a
doctor. I've spend so long trying to fix my skin with products from the drugstore
that were constantly advertised on TV and magazines, without any results (clearasil,
clean and clear, oriflamme, garnier, yves rocher…). Maybe those products work
for you, maybe not. A doctor will know what is right for your skin and will
teach you how to use them.
There are
3 products that you must have in your skin care routine:

| Benzac Wash 5 Gel - Noviderm Boreade Gel |
Um gel/creme de limpeza – usado 2 vezes ao dia (de
manhã e à noite). Tem que limpar o excesso de sebum que provoca novas
borbulhas. Não precisa de ser um exfoliante, muitas vezes eles agravam o acne,
pois podem irritar borbulhas. Os meus favoritos são o Benzac Wash 5 (cerca de 10€ na
farmácia. É muito forte e foi me receitado por 2 dermatologistas diferentes), e o Boreade Purifying Cleasing Gel da Noviderm (14€ em farmácias e
parafarmácias. É mais fraquinho, comecei a utilizar depois de concluir os
tratamentos intensivos de acne, já experimentei outras marcas mas volto sempre
a este, deve ser a minha sexta garrafa).
Cleanser – it’s
something that you use 2 times a day (morning and night). It has to clean the
excessive oil that can clog pores. It doesn’t need to be an exfoliant (most of
the time exfoliants can irritate your skin and aggravate acne). My favorite
products are Benzac Wash 5 gel
(around 10€ in pharmacies. It’s very strong, and was recommended by my 2 dermatologists);
and Boreade Purifyng Cleansing Gel from Noviderm (14€ in pharmacies. It’s not
as strong and abrasive like the first one, I started using it after finishing
my intensive acne treatment. I have tried different brands but I always come
back to this one, this is probably my 6th bottle).

Um tratamento local (spot treatment) Рeste ̩ o vosso
melhor amigo para secar as borbulhas. Basta aplicar nas zonas afetadas à noite
e com o passar do tempo elas vão desaparecendo. Tal como na limpeza tenho
favoritos e são só estes que eu uso. O Isdin
Peroxiben (10€ nas farmácias. Este é o mais forte, seca tudo o que vocês
quiserem. Um ponto negativo é que estraga as toalhas lá de casa. Não sei o que
é que tem na sua composição, mas depois de lavar a cara na manha seguinte, ao
limpar a cara deixo a toalha com manchas tipo lixÃvia). O outro é o Differin gel (10€ nas farmácias. É mais
fraco e por isso gosto de o aplicar nas borbulhas que me aparecem nas
bochechas já que é uma pele mais sensÃvel).
A spot
treatment – This is your best friend to dry out blemishes. You just need to
apply it to your problem areas at night and after a couple of uses they will disappear. Like in the cleansers department I have 2 favorites. Isdin Peroxiben is the strongest, it
dries everything it touches. A disadvantage is that it completely bleaches my
face towels when I use then in the morning after. The other product is Differin gel (10€ in pharmacies. It’s a bit weaker than the first one. I
like to apply this on the blemishing on my cheeks, since it’s a more sensitive
area).

| Eucerin Hydrating Care - Clean & Clear dupla acção hidratante |
Um creme hidratante – Todos os tratamentos de acne deixam a
pele extremamente seca, e como tal é preciso aplicar um creme hidratante. O
principal ponto a lembrar quando escolhemos um hidratante é que este NÃO
CONTENHA ÓLEO. Por isso podem usar um hidratante qualquer tendo sempre em
atenção à lista de ingredientes. Eu gosto muito do creme hidratante da Clean and Clear (são 6€ no supermercado),
ou se preferem produtos mais hidratantes experimentem o Eucerin Hydrating Care (13€ nas farmácias e parafarmácias).
A moisturizing cream – Every
acne treatment leaves your skin super dry, so you need to apply a moisturizer.
The main point is to get an oil free one. Just keep in mind every time you look
for a hydrating cream to look at the ingredients list, if there is anything
with the word ‘oil’ in it just put it down. My favorite is Clean and Clear Double Action (around
6€ in the drugstore), but if you fancy a cream a bit more moisturizing try out
the Eucerin Hydrating Care (13€ in
pharmacies).
