Pink Ivory Makeup: Naked

Aqui está a minha primeira paleta de sombras da Anastasia Beverly Hills. Devo confessar que não me interessei muito quando vi as primeiras fotos promocionais, mas como me arrependi profundamente de ter deixado escapar a ultima paleta Shadow Couture, achei melhor comprar a nova antes que se esgote.

Here it is my first Anastasia Beverly Hills eyeshadow palette. I have to confess that I didn’t really care for it when I saw the first pictures, but since I missed out on the last palette from her (Shadow Couture), I thought it would be wise to be safe than sorry.

A Anastasia é uma marca muito conhecida pelos seus produtos de sobrancelhas, pelos contour kits e pelas sombras. A marca vende sombras individuais estilo Makeup Geek e Mac, e lá de vez em quando lança uma paleta que deixa as americanas em pulgas.

Anastasia is a very well-known brand from their eyebrow products, for the contour kits and eyeshadows. This brand sells individual eyeshadows like Makeup Geek and Mac, and from time to time, releases an eyeshadow palate that all Americans rave about.

Esta é a Self Made, comprei-a na Cultbeauty por 36€ com portes incluídos. Também a podem encontrar na Beautybay com um preço parecido. Por fora temos uma embalagem compacta, com fecho magnético, é cinzenta texturada com uma chapinha prateada com o nome da marca gravado. Por dentro temos 14 sombras, onde apenas 2 são mate (Buttery e Hot Chocolate), um espelho e um pincel (que até não é nada mau).

This is the Self Made palette, I bought mine on Cultbeauty for 36€ with shipping included. You can also find it on Beautybay. On the outside we have a very sleek packaging with a magnetic closure, it’s gray and textured with the name of the brand engraved on a metallic silver plate. Inside we have 14 shades, where only 2 are mate (Buttery and Hot Chocolate), a mirror and a dual ended brush (that is actually really good).

O que não me atraí nesta paleta é a organização das sombras, não sei explicar porque, mas na minha opinião, acho que estas as cores não são muito harmoniosas. De qualquer das formas, esta paleta tem uma qualidade tipo Urban Decay (a melhor marca de sombras para mim), e não é aquela típica paleta neutra pois temos cores únicas como a Isla ou Deep Purple.

As minhas cores favoritas são Pink Champagne, Metallic Plum, Self-Made e Hot & Cold.

What I don’t like in this palette is the layout of the shadows, I don’t know why, but to me they look like they clash with each other. Anyhow, this palette has an Urban Decay quality (the best eyeshadow brand in my opinion), and it’s not the typical neutral palette since we get unique shades like Isla or Deep Purple.

My favorite shades are Pink Champagne, Metallic Plum, Self-Made and Hot & Cold.

Para resumir, acho que esta é uma boa paleta para quem quer aumentar a colecção, fugir à rotina dos mesmos nudes ou até mesmo a quem não tenha nenhuma sombra e seja principiante.

Como já disse anteriormente acho a qualidade destas sombras muito comparável com as da Urban Decay, ora as Nakeds têm 12 sombras (esta tem 14) e custam 50,95€ na Sephora (esta custa 36€ mas so é possivel comprar online), por outro lado como esta paleta não tem muitos mates eu sinto sempre a necessidade de ir buscar uma ou outra cor à minha Stilla Mind (review here!).

Se estão interessadas não esperem muito porque vai esgotar!

To sum up, I think that this is a good eyeshadow palette if you want to grow your collection, avoid the nude shadow routine or even if you don’t have any eyeshadows.

Like I said before I think that this is a high quality palette, very comparable to the Nakeds from Urban Decay. Well, a Naked palette has 12 eyeshadows (this one has 14) and it costs 50,95€ on Sephora (this one is 36€ but it’s only sold online), on the other hand this palette doesn’t have enough matte shades, so I always feel the need to pick up my Stilla Mind Palette (review here!).

Chegou às nossas Sephoras a mais recente edição das paletas Naked da Urban Decay, chama-se Naked Smoky e custa 50,95€.

It has arrived to our Sephora the most recent edition of the Naked palettes from Urban Decay, called Naked Smoky for the retail price of 50,95€.

A Urban Decay é a minha marca favorita de sombras de olhos. As cores são pigmentadas, macias e faceis de esfumar. Apesar do grande investimento, cada sombra desta paleta fica-nos a 4,25€ (50,95 €/12 sombras), ou ainda mais barato se tiverem descontos de cartão cliente da Sephora, o que é mais barato que as famosas sombras da MAC (18€) ou ate mesmo as individuais da Kiko (4,90 €).

Urban Decay is my favorite brand of eyeshadows. All the colors are pigmented, soft, easy to blend and long-lasting. Even though it is an investment, if you break it down, each shadow costs you 4,25€ (or even cheaper if you have a discount coupon for Sephora), which is must cheaper compared to MAC (18 €) or even Kiko individual eyeshadows (4,90 €).

A embalagem é de plástico, é resistente e pesada, com detalhes de “fumo” à volta de toda a paleta. Vem com um pequeno guia para fazer o perfeito smoky eye com 4 exemplos desenhados: smoky cat, everyday smoky, iconic UD smoky eye e smoky reality star. O fecho é magnético, vem com um espelho enorme e um pincel de 2 lados (esfumar e lápis).

It comes in plastic packaging, very resistant and heavy, with smoke details all over. It also comes with a small guide of how to do the perfect smoky eye with 4 examples: smoky cat, everyday smoky, iconic UD smoky eye and smoky reality star. Inside also we have a heavy duty mirror and a dual sided brush (blending and pencil).

A Naked Smokey é essencialmente fria. Tem 2 ou 3 cores mais quentes, mas os cinzentos e azuis são predominantes. Ao contrário das outras paletas Naked, que tem um degradé de tons do mais claro para o mais escuro, nesta paleta a disposição é diferente, ou seja, apesar de também existir um degradé, é no meio que estão as sombras mais escuras.

Outra diferença está na disposição das texturas, ou seja, nas edições anteriores não há qualquer organização, já na Smoky existem 3 texturas claramente separadas.

The Naked Smoky is essentially cool toned. It has 2 or 3 warm shades, but the greys and blues are predominant. On the other Nakeds, the eyeshadows are organized is a ombre style, from the lightest to darkest, but on this Naked, even though it also has a ombre feel to it, all the darkest shades are in the middle of the palate.

Another difference is in the display of textures, I mean, in the last editions there is no organization but in the Naked Smoky there are 3 textures clearly separated.

O primeiro grupo de sombras é d dos shimmers. Aqui temos 4 sombras brilhantes que podem ser incorporadas em qualquer look, o que torna a Naked Smoky uma paleta muito mais versátil do que se estava à espera.

The first group of eyeshadows is the shimmery one. We have 4 shadows, cool and warm, that ca be incorporated in any look, which makes this smoky palette much more versatile than expected.

High é um champanhe com uma ligueira inclinação para o pêssego.

Dirtysweet é um dourado com um pouco de bronze.

Radar é um castanho médio com brilho bronze, e é o menos brilhante do grupo.

Armor é a cor mais original da Naked Smoky. Na paleta é apenas um cinzento com brilhantes prateados, mas na pele este cinzento tem uma grande base roxa e quando é esfumado transforma-se numa sombra castanha-arroxeada.

High is a champagne shade with a slight peachy tone.

Dirtysweet is a gold with a little of bronze.

Radar is a medium brown with a bronze shine, and it’s the least shimmery shade of the group.

Armor is the most original shade of the all. In the palette it’s just a grey with silver shimmer, but on the skin the grey becomes almost purple, and when it’s smoked out it becomes a brown/purple shade.

O segundo grupo são sombras com uma textura aveludada, não tem tanto brilho como as primeiras sombras mas também não são totalmente mate.

The second group of eyeshadows are the satins, which means that they are not as shimmering like the first ones but they are also not completely mate.

Slanted é um cinzento azulado claro com brilhantes prateados.

Dagger é um cinzento escuro com uma base de azul marinho.

Black Market é o preto frio.

Smolder é um roxo que se torna quase preto na pele.

Slanted is a light blue grey with silver shimmer.

Dagger is a dark grey with a blue marine base.

Black Market is a cool toned black.

Smolder is a purple that becomes almost black on the lid.

Por fim temos os mates. Estas sombras são as mais macias que já experimentei, mas como consequência, quando lhe toco o pincel a sombra voa por todo o lado (pode haver algum desperdício).

Lastly we have the mate shades. These are the softest eyeshadows that I have ever tried, but on the other hand, they just crumble every time that I touch them with a brush (which means that there is a bit of waste and fallout).

Password é um cinzento neutro.

Whiskey é um castanho escuro com uma base quente.

Combust é um bege quente e a única cor de transição nesta paleta.

Thirteen é um baunilha.

Password is a neutral grey.

Whiskey is a dark warm brown.

Combust is a warm beige and the only transition shade in this palette.

Thirteen is a vanilla.

Fiz 2 looks com esta paleta, um quente e um frio, devo confessar que prefiro cores quentes nos meus olhos, principalmente quando se trata de smoky eyes pois as cores frias facilmente podem tornar um smoky eye num “olho negro”.

I made 2 looks with the smoky palette, one more warm toned and another on the cool side. I have to confess that I much prefer warm toned shades on my eyes, especially when doing a smoky eye since cool toned eyeshadows can easily transform a smoky eye in a ‘black eye’.

Esta naked não é a minha favorita, gosto muito que ela tenha mais mates que as outras, mas nada bate a naked original e as suas sombras quentes.

This naked is not my favorite, although I like that it has more mate eyeshadows than the other nakeds, but NOTHING beats the color selection of the original naked.
