Sempre ouvi falar maravilhas da base Este Lauder Double Wear. Dizem que é perfeita para peles oleosas, que não se mexe o dia inteiro e que dá uma cobertura fenomenal… mas claro está, não é para todos os gostos.

I have always heard amazing things about Este Lauder Double Wear Foundation. They say that it’s perfect for oily skin, it doesn’t move and it has an incredible coverage… but of course, not everyone loves it.

Eu comprei-a por impulso no verão passado. Foi numas daquelas tardes em que sentimos a necessidade de gastar dinheiro à toa, e para ajudar a minha situação, tinha acabado de ver uma publicidade no facebook sobre a nova loja online da Perfumes & Companhia com direito a promoções.

I got it by impulse last summer. It was one of those afternoons where you feel the need to buy anything at all, and to make things worse, I had just seen a Facebook add about the new Perfumes & Companhia online store.

Fiz uma pesquisa no google para tentar descobrir a minha cor, já que pelo site não ia chegar a lado nenhum. A Estee Lauder tem um sistema muito interessante para esta base. Nós temos os típicos W, N e C, correspondentes a tons quentes, neutros e frios e um numero que quanto mais baixo for, mais clara é a nossa base (tal como a L’oreal True Match). No entanto ainda temos outro número que indica o grau de pigmento dentro do tom. Por exemplo, as cores 3W1 e 3W2 apesar de serem as terceiras cores mais clara da gama, a primeira é menos quente que a segunda.

Comprei a cor 1N2 Ecru, que se não me falha a memoria, era o tom mais claro à venda no site. Ela é escura demais para mim, mas felizmente espalha-se na perfeição e não ficam suspeitas que tenho a cor errada de base.

I made a Google search to find out my shade, since the site was too confusing and didn’t offer any help. Estee Lauder has a very interesting system for this foundation. We have the typical W, N and C that correspond to warm, neutral and cool tones and a number that defines the shade, (just like the L’oreal True Match). But we also get another number that describes the range of the tone. For example, the shades 3W1 and 3W2 are the third lightest in the range but the first one is less warm than the second one.

I got the 1N2 Ecru, and if I’m not mistaken, it was the lightest shade available. It’s a bit too dark for me, but fortunately I can blend it perfectly and there are no traces that I have the wrong colour.

Ela tem uma cobertura de outro mundo, não tem óleo, fica mate o dia inteiro e não transfere ou desaparece. É realmente uma base para grandes eventos em que queremos estar sem qualquer imperfeição. Se a tivesse que comprar com outra base seria com a Revlon Colourstay para peles oleosas. Elas não só têm características semelhantes como também têm o mesmo perfume.

A parte chata é que não tem pump. Para mim não é um grande problema, já que não a vou usar todos os dias. Muito provavelmente vou estar em casa quando a quiser usar, e ai posso entornar a base que quiser para as mãos. Mas se preferirem a versão mais higiénica e com menos desperdício, podem sempre comprar o dispensador da MAC. Ele cabe na perfeição e custa cerca de 5€.

É uma base de culto por uma boa razão, mas se vocês têm pele seca, ou se preferem algo natural então fujam. Não há nada a fazer porque esta base é visível na pele. Caso estejam na dúvida, experimentem a base da Revlon pois é muito mais baratinha.

This covers like nothing else, it’s oil free, it stays matte for the entire day and it doesn’t transfer or disappears. It’s truly a foundation for the days where you what to look flawless. If I had to compare it with another foundation, I would that that the Revlon Colourstay for normal to oily skin is a close dupe. Not only it preforms similarly, but it also has the same scent.

The tricky part is that we don’t get a pump. That does not bother me really, since I don’t plan on using it every day. I’ll probably just use it at home where I can drop foundation on my hands without any care. However, if you prefer a more hygienic version with less waste, you can always grab a pump from MAC. It fits perfectly and it costs around 5€.

It’s a cult product for a reason, nevertheless, If you have dry skin, or if you prefer a more natural look than stay away. This foundation is visible on the skin and there’s nothing you can do about it.

Dizem que a Nars vem ai, e supostamente, ainda este mês…

Se há marca que sempre me fascinou foi a Nars. Ela é quase como um upgrade da MAC: design simples, produtos de culto e preços de fugir.

Molhei o meu dedo nesta marca quando descobri a Fapex há dois anos. Comprei a famosíssima Sheer Glow e percebi que nas marcas grandes, a cor mais clara é mesmo A cor mais clara. Passado uns meses agarrei também 2 blushes. Fiquei totalmente rendida à marca mas não havia nada que chamasse por mim na Fapex e com o passar do tempo comecei a duvidar da credibilidade da loja.

No natal do ano passado fiz a minha primeira compra no site oficial europeu. Não há nada como miniaturas, e a loja da Nars tem montes delas para dar. Já encomendei 4 vezes lá, alguns produtos vocês já viram por aqui, e outros ainda estão em fase de experimentação, ou de parte para serem fotografados.

Mas, desde o dia que a Sephora confirmou que a Nars chegava a Portugal em Junho eu tive que me conter para não encomendar mais. Apesar das miniaturas serem super fofas e úteis para testar produtos novos, não há nada como um desconto de 20% na Sephora.

Nars Laguna Bronzer - Eu nem uso assim tanto bronzer, mas o laguna é adorado por tanta gente que só pode ser mágico!

Nars Audacious Lipstick in the shade Raquel – Por razões óbvias é claro! A Nars tem uma gama gigantesca de batons em que cada um tem um nome de mulher. Ter um batom com o meu nome é só a coisa mais fixe de sempre e para ajudar mais, é um nude rosa lindo. Impossível ser mais meant to be.

Nars soft matte complete concealer – Mal vi as promoções deste corrector eu fiquei logo desinteressada… até que o Youtube se encheu de elogios. Dizem que apesar de vir num pot e ser mate, ele não é nada seco, mesmo para quem tem peles secas. Vou ter que ver para crer.

Narsissist Loaded Eyeshadow Palette – Estou super curiosa com as sombras da Nars, e não há melhor maneira de as testar do que com uma paleta quente cheia de cores neutras.

Numa das minhas compras recentes da Tarte vi este conjunto mini por 12€ e nem pensei duas vezes antes de o adicionar ao carrinho!

On one of my most recent Tarte purchases I saw this mini lip set for 12€ and I did not think twice before adding it to my basket!

Como já devem ter reparado, eu tenho um fraquinho por batons líquidos. Como as reviews que circularam na altura do lançamento destes batons não eram as melhores, eu nunca tive a vontade de os encomendar de prepósito do site da Tarte.

Este set vem com dois tipos de batons líquidos, um mate e um gloss. Vêm dentro das embalagens típicas dos minis, feitas com plástico com pouca qualidade e com 1ml de produto lá dentro. Apesar de não ter o full size para comprar, penso que o aplicado é igual ao original. Ele tem uma dimensão grande demais para um mini, mas perfeita para aplicar nos lábios sem ter que o voltar a molhar.

Has you may have noticed, I love liquid lipsticks. Since the reviews of these babies, at the time of their release, were not the best, I never got the will to order them on purpose.

This set has two different liquid lipsticks, a mate and a glossy one. They come inside the typical miniature packaging, made of cheap plastic with little quality and with 1 ml of product. Even thou I don’t own the original size, I believe that the applicator is just like the full size one. It’s too big for a mini but perfect to cover the lips with one dip.

O Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint do kit chama-se Namaste, num nude rosinha para todos os dias. Esta é uma das cores mais populares da gama e foi o motivo para comprar este set de minis. A fórmula é espessa, quase como os Satins da Colourpop. É pigmentado e super confortável, não seca totalmente, mas também não cola nem é desconfortável. Não deixa de ser mate, mas não é um batom liquido daqueles que estamos habituados.

The Tarteist Creamy Matte Lip Paint of the kit is the shade Namaste, an everyday pinky nude. This is one of the most popular shades of the range and it was the reason why I got the set. The formula is thick, almost like the Satins form Colourpop. It’s pigment and super comfortable, it doesn’t dry completely, but it’s not sticky or uncomfortable. It’s still mate thou, but it’s not the kind of liquid lipsticks that were used to.

Por fim, o Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint que vinha no set é a cor WCW. É aquela cor de vinho em versão gloss ultra pigmentado, o que para mim é um autêntico pecado. Quem é que quer usar uma cor escura e pigmentada em formato glossy? Por mais estranho que pareça, até que nem desgosto desta formula. Não é peganhenta mas adere bem aos lábios sem borrar... claro que não podem abusar na quantidade… Aposto que o mililitro deste gloss vai durar e durar.

Lastly, the Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint that came in the set is in the shade WCW. It’s a wine colour in a ultra-pigmented gloss, an that in my opinion is a complete sin. Who wants a dark pigmented shade with a glossy formula? But the truth is… I kinda like it. The formula is not stick and lasts on the lips without smudging… as long has you do not over doo the quantity. I bet that the one millilitre of this gloss is going to last and last.

Atualmente este set está descontinuado, mas podem sempre agarrar o Vol. II no site da Tarte, que sinceramente, trás cores mais giras, e ambas de acabamento mate.

Eu culpo a Kim Kardashian por esta moda dos pós amarelados. Já tive para comprar o famoso Banana Powder do Ben Nye vezes sem conta, mas desde que experimentei o Makeup Forever HD Loose Powder fiquei satisfeita… até ao dia em que ele chegou ao fim. Vi este conjunto na Maquillalia por 6€ e decidi arriscar, já que mesmo que não gostasse do pó eu sempre ganhava um pincel novo. Hoje vou vos falar da minha opinião sobre o Banana Dreams Loose Powder Contour Set.

I blame Kim Kardashian for this yellow powder trend. I almost bought the famous Banana Powder from Ben Nye countless times, but since I tried the Makeup Forever HD Loose Powder, I didn’t really feel the need to get another one… until the day that I used it up. I saw this set on Maquillalia for 6€ and I decided to take a risk. Even if the powder sucked, was could still get a new brush out of it. Today I’m going to talk about my opinion of the Banana Dreams Loose Powder Contour Set.

Bem, ele é um amarelo mais escuro do que eu estava à espera. Como a casperzinha que sou, fiquei assustada e sem vontade de o experimentar. Não é nada divertido estar a despachar-me para sair de casa e depois descobrir que tenho que refazer a maquilhagem toda por o pó ser escuro demais.

Aproveitei um sábado para brincar com ele. Fiz uma sessão de baking que traumatizou o meu gato. Uma camada bem espessa de pó por cima das minhas olheiras aplicado com a Beauty Blender húmida. Quando chegou a hora de tirar o excesso fiquei satisfeita à primeira vista. Não havia qualquer vestígio da tonalidade amarela na minha cara… mas o pó envelheceu-me imenso.

Este pó, tal como o da Makeup Forever, têm sílica. Uma das suas principais características é a capacidade de absorver óleo, assim como, conseguir disfarçar poros e rugas fininhas. No entanto este menino depositou-se em tudo o que era sitio e parecia que tinha sugado toda a água da minha pele, o que nunca aconteceu com o pó da MUFE. Aproveitei para o testar sob a luz direta do sol e toda a região onde tinha aplicado o pó estava amarela.

Well, this is a darker yellow than what I was expecting. Like the little Casper that I am, I got super freaked out and with no will to try it out. Let’s just say that testing this on a day that I had to go out wasn’t really my idea of fun.

I took advantage of a lazy Saturday to play around with it. I did a baking session that traumatized my cat. I applied a thick layer of this powder under my eyes with a damp Beauty Blender. When it came the time to dust it out I was satisfied at first. There weren’t any traces of yellowness on my skin… but the powder really aged me.

This powder has silica, just like the Makeup Forever one. One of the main jobs of silica is to soak the oil and at the same time disguise pores and fine lines. This powder settled everywhere and it looked like it had saturated all the moisture out of my skin, which never happens with my MUFE powder. I went to direct sunlight and you could clearly see that my under eyes were yellow.

Depois do falhanço que foi o baking comecei a usa-lo no dia-a-dia com uma passagem rápida do pincel para selar o corretor e a zona T. Se o usar dessa maneira ele é bonzinho. Ele faz o seu serviço, não me deixa amarela e não tem flashback. Sei que não vou voltar a comprá-lo, eu queria mesmo um pó para baking e este não me convenceu, para além de que a embalagem é muito fraquinha. Não o vou levar em viagens porque seria o homicídio da minha mala.

Parece que no fim de contas, só me apaixonei pelo pincel! Ele é pouco denso e macio, perfeito para aplicar pó solto no rosto. Já conheciam este produto? Alguma fã?

After that baking fail, I started to use it during the week in a quick dusting under my eyes and T zone. It works fine if you use it like that. It does the job, it doesn’t make me yellow and there is no flashback. I know that I not going to repurchase it thou. I truly wanted something for baking and this didn’t convince me not to mention that the packaging is too weak. I not taking this powder on any trips because that would kill my bag.

Just as I was expecting I only liked the brush! It’s very soft and not too dense, making it perfect to apply loose powder on the face. Did you knew this product? Are you a fan?

Andava eu super feliz com o meu Differin para secar uma ou outra borbulhita, até ao dia que vi a Kylie Jenner mencionar no snapchat que ela usa a Drying Lotion do Mario Badescu.

I was super happy with my Differin to spot treat that cheeky blemish, until the day that I saw Kylie Jenner mention on her snapchat that she uses the Drying Lotion from Mario Badescu.

Esta garrafinha de 28 ml tem um produto concentrado à base de calamina e ácido salicílico que ajudam a combater borbulhas enquanto dormimos. Temos um pó depositado no fundo da embalagem envolvido por um líquido transparente, a aplicação consiste em molhar um cotonete até atingir o pó por de rosa e de seguida cobrir apenas as borbulhas que precisam de desaparecer de uma vez por todas.

É um excelente método para combater acne sem que a pele à volta do “problema” sofra as consequências que os produtos para peles acneicas trazem. Para unir o útil ao agradável, a Drying Lotion pode ser usada por todo o tipo de peles, mesmo as mais sensíveis.

O que eu não gosto neste produto é que ele tem um tempo de antena muito específico. Ao contrário do meu Differin que eu usava mal tivesse a suspeita de estar a surgir um amigo indesejável, com a Drying Lotion eu só consigo usar quando a borbulha já chegou ao ponto de, desculpem a expressão, espremer.

Ao colocar uma pintinha cor-de-rosa do produto do Mario Badescu por cima de uma borbulha a formar-se, a única coisa que vai fazer é irritar a pele, a borbulha não chega a formar-se na totalidade, mas fico com uma espécie de cicatriz/pseudo-borbulha que demora ainda mais a passar.

This little bottle has 28 ml of highly concentrated product with calamine and salicylic acid that fights blemishes while we sleep. We have a pink powder settled in the bottom of the bottle that is surrounded by a clear liquid. To apply this to the skin you need to dip a cotton swab in the pink powder and then apply it to the blemishes that need to be gone once and for all.

It’s a great tool to fight acne without damaging the skin surrounding the “problem”, and it can be used on all skin types, even the more sensitive ones.

My issue with this product is that you can only use it in a specific time of the pimple life span. Unlike my Differin that I used every time that I suspected that a new friend was coming to the surface, the Drying Lotion is only meant to use when the pimple is at the, pardon my French, “popping stage”.

If I dab a little dot of the pink product from Mario Badescu on top of a developing blemish, the only thing that it will do is to irritate the skin. The pimple doesn’t fully develop, but I get a kind of wound/pseudo-blemish that takes even more time to disappear.

Este é um produto para quem sofre mesmo de acne e não para quem apenas tem uma ou outra amiga hormonal. Podem usar na mesma, mas os 18€ que investiram neste produto não vão compensar o uso que lhe podem dar durante um ano (ele tem a validade de 12 meses depois de aberto).

This Drying Lotion is for someone that really struggles with acne and not it you just have a hormonal friend occasionally. You can still use it, but the 18€ that you invested on this product will probably go to waste, since this has an expiration date of 12 months.

Não há nada melhor que o cheiro de um batom novinho da MAC! Finalmente consegui agarrar o Mehr, o rosa neutro mais perfeito do mundo!

There is nothing better than the smell of a brand new MAC lipstick! Finally, I was able to grab Mehr, the world’s perfect neutral pink!

Este é o batom que pedi ao meu namorado para me oferecer há três natais consecutivos, mas que ele volta sempre com um: “elas não sabem que cor é! Tens a certeza que essa cor existe?” Depressa lhe expliquei que eu SEI SEMPRE se as cores existem ou não… mas como as empregadas da MAC intimidam qualquer pessoa, eu fiquei cheia de vergonha em pedir o Mehr em todas as visitas à loja até que finalmente este ano acabei por o encontrar no aeroporto.

A cor é linda e o acabamento é um sonho. Por mais que eu adore o meu Pillow Talk da Charlotte Tilbury, há qualquer coisa na textura de um batom mate da MAC que o deixa me deixa feliz. Parece veludo nos lábios e não vai a lado nenhum, as cores são feitas especialmente para todos os tons de pele e o cheiro a baunilha trás tantas recordações.

I asked my boyfriend for this lipstick for three consecutive Christmases. But he always comes back with a: “they don’t know what I'm talking about! Are you sure that that lipstick exists?”. He quiclky learned that I ALWAYS KNOW what colours exist... but since the workers from MAC are so indimidating I got super self conscious to ask for Mehr on all the trips to the store. So I ended up getting this baby at the airport.

The shade is gorgeous and the finish is a dream. No matter how much I love my Pillow Talk from Charlotte Tilbury, there is something about a matte MAC lipstick that makes me happy. They feel like velvet on the lips and stay put for hours, the colours are made for you and the scent brings back so many memories.

Como conseguem reparar eu adoro cores como o Mehr. São cores típicas de “your lips but better” e vão complementar qualquer look, seja quente ou frio, natural ou tcharan. O batom Brave da MAC é o meu favorito de todo o sempre. Recentemente tive que o guardar porque está mesmo, mesmo a chegar ao fim, por isso só o uso em ocasiões especiais. Agora que tenho o Mehr já o posso usar até ao fim sem nenhum peso na consciência.

As you can see, I love colours like Mehr. They are the typical “your lips but batter” shades that will compliment every look, no matter how cool or warm toned, natural or glam. The shade Brave from MAC is my all time favorite. I recently had to put it way and save it for special occasions, since I’m almost running out of it. Now that I have Mehr I can finally use it up with no worries.

Morphe é uma marca do Youtube. Praticamente 99% das youtubers americanas que eu sigo são Morphe girls e fazem questão de escarrapachar o cupãozito do desconto.

Morphe is the brand of Youtube! Almost 99% of the American youtubers that I follow are Morphe girls that make sure to mention their discount code every time they can.

No ano passado comprei a famosíssima 35O (post aqui). Alguém me consegue explicar como é que uma paleta que parece que acabou de chegar da loja do chinês, consegue causar tanto histerismo? Eu esperei muito calmamente e lá a consegui comprar na BeautyBay por 25€ no final de 2015.

Posso concordar que 25€ por 35 sombras é algo de inacreditável, principalmente quando está comprovado que elas até são boazinhas. Não são Makeup Geek ou Urban Decay, há rumores que os ingredientes não são os melhores, e claro está, muitas das cores dentro da paleta são super parecidas.

Infelizmente não me contentei com a 35O e acabei por encomendar a 35T, a versão roxa da família. Usei esta paleta 2 vezes desde que a comprei, e já la vai mais de um ano. Ela é bonita e tem uma excelente variedade de tons roxos dourados e castanhos, mas as minhas Z Palettes continuam a ser a primeira escolha, principalmente em termos de sombras mate.

Aquela embalagem foleira e nada prática de arrumar, faz com que fique debaixo de todas as outras paletas de olhos que tenho, então como não a vejo, raramente a uso! Mesmo assim, com 35 sombras, a 35T é incompleta. Falta uma cor clara mate para aplicar por cima do primário de olhos, e um iluminador. É um bocado ridículo ter que recorrer a outra paleta quando esta já é enorme.

Last year I got the infamous 35O (post here). Can someone please explain to me how can a palette that looks like it came from ebay cause so much hype? I patiently waited and I was able to grab it on Beautybay for 25€ at the end of 2015.

I can agree that 25€ for 35 eye shadows is something unbelievable, especially when it’s proven that they’re pretty good! But don’t get me wrong, they’re not Makeup Geek or Urban Decay eyeshadows, there are rumours that the list of ingredients on Morphe palettes are not the best, and as you can see, although we get a lot of colours, they are very similar.

Well, I was not satisfied with my 35O and I ended up ordering the 35T, the taupe version of the Morphe family. I have used this palate twice, and I own it for over a year. It’s a pretty palette and it has an amazing variety of purple shades, but my Z Palettes are my first choice, especially when I want a matte shadow.

The tacky packaging that it’s so impractical to store, is on the bottom of my drawer, underneath all my other eyeshadow palettes. Since I do not see it, I never pick it up! Even still, with 35 eyeshadows, the 35T in incomplete. There’s missing a light matte shade to apply over the primer and a highlighter. It’s ridiculous that I have to get another palette when this one is already huge.

Juro que não percebo o porque da hype que criam à volta destas paletas. Não são a ultima bolacha do pacote e acho que nós não merecemos ser relembradas constantemente dos 30 restocks anuais. Como devem imaginar, vou dispensar a paleta em colaboração com a Jaclyn Hill.

Com a primavera aqui, e o verão a caminho, esta é a altura ideal para experimentar uns blushes em conta de uma das minhas marcas favoritas: Wet n Wild.

With spring here, and summer on the way, it’s the perfect time to try out some affordable blushes from one of my favorites brands: Wet n Wild.

Na Primor existem cinco Color Icon Blushes, e eu como não conseguia decidir, acabei por agarrar os quatro que me chamaram mais à atenção. Ficou a faltar o Plastic Pink, que como o nome indica, é um rosa barbie bem azulado e vibrante.

On Primor there are five Color Icon Blushes, and since I couldn’t decide which to get I just ended up picking the four that called out my name. The one missing is Plastic Pink, and just like the name suggests, it’s a vibrant blue toned Barbie pink.

Estes blushes são altamente pigmentados e macios, quase que parecem sombras de olhos. Temos que ter uma mão levezinha, ou um pincel duo fibber, para não fazer estragos.

Não são os blushes mais duradores que já experimentei, mas também não tinha grandes espectativas nesse departamento, principalmente depois de usar blushes da Tarte. Passado 5 horas já desapareceram totalmente da minha pele.

These blushes are highly pigmented and soft. They could easily be eyeshadows. We need to be very light handed or use a duo fibber brush just so we don’t over apply it.

They are not the most longlasting blushes that I tried, but to be fair I wasn’t expecting them to be, especially after trying out the blushes from Tarte. After 5 hours, the product is completely gone from my skin.

E3272 Apri-cot in the Middle – Esta é a cor mais indicada para o dia-a-dia. É um simples pêssego acetinado que deixa um ar bem saudável na pele. This one is the perfect day-to-day shade, a beautiful satin peach that leaves a healthy look to the skin.

E3282 Mellow Wine – é um rosa velho com um subtom pêssego. Esta mistura de cores torna-o bastante versátil. Podem o usar com looks quentes ou frios. A rose with peach undertones. It’s the perfect mix of shades making it very versatile. You can use it either with warm or cool toned looks.

Adorei estes blushes. As cores são lindas, pigmentadas, macias e espalham-se na perfeição na pele, tudo isto por 3.99€. Posso não os usar nos dias de trabalho, mas num passeio ou saída, eles são mais que suficientes.

I truly love these blushes. The colours are gorgeous, pigmented, soft and blend effortlessly on the skin, and they cost just 3.99€. I may not wear them to work every day, but for the weekend, they’re more than enough.
