Já faz cinco anos que sonhava com
esta paleta. Se não conhecem (o que é bem possível porque já ninguém fala dela),
esta é a Pro Palette da Lorac.
É composta por 16 sombras neutras, com 8 mates e 8 shimmers, conhecida por ser um produto de culto em todo o mundo, mas
que pode ser apenas comprada nos Estados Unidos.
I have been dreaming about this
palette for five years now. If you do not know what this is (which is quite
possible because nobody ever talks about it anymore), this is the Lorac Pro Palette. It’s a very
beautiful palette made of 16 neutral eye shadows, 8 mates and 8 shimmers, and
is very well known as a cult product worldwide but can only be purchased in the
United States.
Acreditem que lhe tentei meter as
mãos em cima vezes sem conta. Houve uma altura, há uns anos atrás, que bloggers portuguesas conseguiram a
comprar através daquelas lojas de Facebook
que vendiam produtos americanos a preços estupidamente caros.
Não sei como, mas não cai na
armadilha (até sei, foi pelo preço e por suspeitar que os produtos fossem
réplicas). Mentalizei-me que se algum dia fosse aos EUA este seria um produto a
trazer e iria, de algum modo, marcar o fim da batalha para o conseguir comprar.
Até que a minha cunhada disse que
ia a Nova Iorque no verão. Nem hesitei: “tens
que me trazer a Lorac Pro!”.
E aqui está ela! Já mora comigo há
mais de oito meses e a nossa relação continua forte.
Believe me, I've tried really hard to
get my hands on this. There was a time, a few years ago, where Portuguese
bloggers managed to buy it through those Facebook
stores that sold American products for a stupid expensive price.
I do not know how, but I didn’t fell
into the trap (I do know, it was the price and I my doubts on whether or not the
products were fake). I figured that if I ever went to the US this would be a
product to bring and it would somehow mark the end of the battle that it was to
get it.
But then my sister-in-law said she
was going to New York in the summer. I didn’t even hesitate: "You have to
bring me the Lorac Pro!"
And here it is! It has lived with me
for over eight months and our relationship is still going strong.
Bem, verdade seja dita, não há
como negar que a LP não é muito atual. Agora que só vemos paletas inspiradas na
Modern Renaissance, torna-se óbvio
que a LP vem da era da Naked Palette.
Ela é mesmo repleta de cores básicas, mas isso já se sabia e sempre foi o que eu
quis, o que eu não estava à espera foi da falta de inspiração que ela me dá.
Seja como for, os mates são
incrivelmente pigmentados ao ponto de eu ter que me controlar para não abusar e
intensificar a simples cor de transição. Os shimmers
já são menos inconsistentes. Os mais claros são muito poeirentos e pouco
intensos, enquanto que os mais escuros e o dourado dão aquele efeito metálico
que já estamos habituadas a ver em sombras mais recentes.
A embalagem é de cartão, forrado
a papel preto tipo soft touch (mas não
tão extremo como o que temos nas embalagens da Nars), que é propício a manchas. É uma paleta muito fininha e com
espelho, tornando-a muito prática para as viagens.
Trás um primer de sombras que sinceramente ainda não abri. De momento estou
servida neste departamento e não gosto de abrir novos produtos para olhos só
para os deixar estragar.
Well, truth be told, there is no
denying that the LP is not very modern. Now that we only see inspired palettes
by the Modern Renaissance, it
becomes obvious that the LP comes from the Naked
Palette era. It’s full of basic shades, but I already knew that and that
was always what I wanted, what I wasn’t expecting was the lack of inspiration that
it gives me.
Be that as it may, the mates are
incredibly pigmented to the point where I have to control myself to not
intensify a simple transition shade. The shimmers are less inconsistent thou.
The lighter ones are very dusty and not that intense, while the darker ones and
the gold have that metallic effect that we’re used to see in more recent eye shadow
palettes.
The packaging is carton, lined with
soft-touch black paper (not as extreme as the one Nars packaging), but is
nonetheless prone to stains. It is a very thin and mirrored palette, making it
very practical to travel with.
It also brings a eyeshadow primer that
I honestly haven’t even opened yet. At the moment I don’t need more primers and
I don’t like opening new eye products just to let them expire.

Sem dúvida que não é a minha
paleta favorita, mas se formos a comprar para a sua época, acho-a superior à Naked Palette, tanto em fórmula como em
variedade de cores.
It’s certainly not my favourite
palette, but if I was to compare it to it’s time, I think that this one is
superior to the Naked Palette, both in formula and in variety of shades.
